United Way of Essex and West Hudson is one of 1,300 United Ways nationwide, and operates independently of United Way of America.
UWEWH maintains the highest standards of professionalism, accountability and transparency in our stewardship of contributor dollars and financial management.
Our finance committee (made up of volunteers who are high-level financial professionals) oversees accounting and auditing procedures and regularly monitors the reconciling of funds in complete detail. An independent accounting firm audits UWEWH books annually. The finance committee and board of directors must review and approve the annual audits.
